      Multi-storey car-parks  
   

The Bitlink 2-wire bus system is being used in various multi-storey car-parks to register how many cars there are parked in the car-park and the location of each car.

This enables the system to create graphic representations of where the empty parking slots are. The system can also actively guide the drivers to empty parking slots via electronical signs and furthermore control lighting and gates in the car-park.

 
         
 

 

 


 
         
     

Technical description of the installation

Above each parking slot is placed a photo detector which registers if a car is using the parking slot. Each detector is equipped with a DPBIT21 passiv counter enabling a central computer to monitor all the parking slots in the car-park. DPBIT70 active counters are also being used to monitor traffic flow in the car-park.

Using the same 2-wire bus cable the central computer is connected to information screens, electronical signs, lighting and gates. A BIT2114 server, DPBIT68 analog input components and a BIT2000 industrial mini PC are used for these purposes. All this enables the computer to control the car-park according to the many rules and functions in the customized Bitlink software.
